Business Negotiation

Part of the China Ready Suite - Business negotiation is one of the China Ready courses that focuses on the adoption of formal and informal Chinese communication styles for different context of negotiation. The approaches to overcome communication barriers and response to queries during a negotiation are an integral part of the course.

Other essential skills that participants will also get to learn are the strategies and psychological tactics to elicit favourable response or outcome from the negotiation.
 

Course Content:

Negotiation Skills

  • Strategies to apply in Chinese negotiations
  • Psychological tactics during negotiations
  • Managing negotiations (opening & closing)
 

Communication Skills

  • Formal and informal Chinese communication
  • Typical communication obstacles and solutions
  • Chinese business etiquette

Methodology:

Lessons are conducted in a structured yet pragmatic manner as lectures are blended with group discussions, role-plays and individual assessments. The group discussions give participants the opportunities to share their experience while role-playing helps the practice and application of concepts and approaches learned through the course.
 

Learning Outcomes:

Develop the skill to effectively engage their counterparts with understanding and knowledge on business etiquette, negotiation, culture difference between China and Singapore and business correspondence via email to engage their Chinese counterparts which the Business Negotiation focuses on.

Participants will be equipped with principles, techniques, and strategies for business negotiation, as well as the appropriate language and details of the negotiation process.
