Expanding Your Business in China Through Online Platforms

Part of the China Ready Suite - China’s consumer market poses enormous potential where merchants in Singapore can access and fulfil the needs and wants of the consumers via the internet. The ubiquitous internet has drastically transformed the digital marketing and e-commerce to fulfil the Chinese consumer buying behaviour in recent time.

The course comprises the approach in establishing an online store with major e-commerce platform such as Tao Bao, leveraging on prevailing social media platforms and digital marketing tools such as WeChat Public Account, Moments, and Mini programmes for outreach and customer retention. Pricing strategies, legal obligations, payment methods and order fulfilment are also the focus of the course.

The concepts on e-commerce and digital marketing are fundamentally and practically helpful to participants who plan to take the first step in accessing the China market but virtually.

Methodology:

Lessons are conducted in a structured yet pragmatic manner as lectures are blended with group discussions, presentation and individual assessments. The group discussions give participants the opportunities to share their experience while presentation help the practice and application of concepts and approaches learned through the course.
 

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will have an overall understanding of e-commerce and online consumer markets in China, and be familiarised with the functions and operations of major e-commerce and social media platforms.

Participants will also learn basic steps of building and managing an online store, as well as the prevailing digital marketing methods and strategies. Students will be well equipped with practical knowledge and skills before they step into China online market.
