According to a survey report, Singapore’s economy would need another 1.2 million digitally skilled workers by 2025, representing a 55 per cent jump from the present 2.2 million in the workforce.
Nine in ten (91%) managers believe that the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the need for digital skills in their organisation while just three in ten of managers surveyed (28%) are very confident that their organisation has the necessary digital skills to succeed. This means that the demand for digital skills in Singapore is expected to grow significantly, and the widening gap between demand and supply needs to be bridged immediately.
The managers surveyed believe the most in demand digital skills for their organisation are digital marketing (43%), digital business analysis (40%) and social media (36%).
