Business Mandarin for Family Office and Offshore Trustees
The wealthy from China are fast becoming the second largest group of billionaires in the world, accounting for nearly one in eight of the world's billionaire wealth, according to the UBS/PWC Billionaires Analysis 2019. In recent years, Singapore has emerged as the preferred jurisdiction for the wealthy to set up family offices and offshore trusts. Are you ready to capture this huge opportunity?
This course aims to instill wealth management professionals with the language and presentation skills pertaining to family offices and offshore trusts in order to empower them to communicate effectively and efficiently with Chinese clients.

Module Content
Develop your vocabulary, refine your presentation skills and be more fluent in Business Mandarin pertaining to:
- Family view of wealth, desire and risk
- Function and mission of family office
- Family strategic planning path map
- Allocation strategies of family financial assets
- Unique challenges for China's ultra-rich families
- Introduction of Family Offices in Singapore
- Introduction of Family Trusts
- Advantages of offshore family trusts in Singapore
Methodology
Lessons are conducted in a structured yet pragmatic manner as lectures are blended with group discussions, role-plays and individual assessments. The group discussions give participants the opportunities to share their experience while role-playing and presentation help the practice and application of the vocabulary and techniques learned through the course.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to communicate in professional Business Mandarin and elaborate on the functions, processes, and advantages of setting up family offices & offshore trusts in Singapore, leveraging on the deep understanding about the unique challenges faced by ultra-rich Chinese families to gain trust and convince Chinese clients.

C6 Pass for GCE ‘O’ Level
Able to comprehend and answer the assessment in Chinese according to the learning mode
In-classroom Training: writing - pen and paper
Synchronous e-learning: hanyu pinyin input method (汉语拼音输入法) using one’s personal computer (PC) web-browser
Assessment and Certification
Participants who achieve 75% attendance and pass the end-of-course assessment will be awarded the Certificate of Proficiency.
