Business Mandarin for Investment Consultants
A growing number of wealthy Chinese families are no longer thinking of investing and philanthropy as separate ventures, preferring to leverage on impact investing to achieve the two objectives at the same time, creating a complementary strategy of investment and philanthropy, particularly focusing on the major challenges of poverty, health, education and climate change. This course aims to instill wealth management professionals with the language and presentation skills pertaining to portfolio management, particularly impact investing and philanthropy management in order to empower them to tackle this new challenge confidently.
Module Content
Develop your vocabulary, refine your presentation skills and be more fluent in Business Mandarin pertaining to:

- The process of portfolio management
- Market strategy and investment themes
- Quantitative investment and Robot Advisor
- Philanthropy and wealth management
- Introduction to Philanthropy in Singapore
- Venture philanthropy and ESG
Methodology
Lessons are conducted in a structured yet pragmatic manner as lectures are blended with group discussions, role-plays and individual assessments. The group discussions give participants the opportunities to share their experience while role-playing and presentation help the practice and application of the vocabulary and techniques learned through the course.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to communicate in professional Business Mandarin and elaborate on the philosophy, processes, strategies of portfolio management, the future of quantitative investment and robot advisor as well as the seamless integration of philanthropy, venture and ESG to gain trust and convince Chinese clients.

Able to comprehend and answer the assessment in Chinese according to the learning mode

Synchronous e-learning: hanyu pinyin input method (汉语拼音输入法) using one’s personal computer (PC) web-browser
Assessment and Certification
Participants who achieve 75% attendance and pass the end-of-course assessment will be awarded the Certificate of Proficiency.
