Apply Basic Negotiation Skills and Techniques

Identify negotiation outcomes and the roles and responsibilities, prepare information which may affect negotiations before applying the processes and techniques to achieve the desired outcomes.

Module Content

  • Identifying negotiation outcomes in commercial situations to establish organisation’s desired position in the negotiation. 
  • Identify roles and responsibilities needed to support negotiation objectives
  • Prepare relevant background information to understand other parties’ position
  • Use negotiation processes and techniques to assist in achieving desired negotiation outcomes
  • Record negotiations for evaluation and documentation purposes

Methodology

Lessons are conducted in a structured yet pragmatic manner as lectures are blended with group discussions, role-plays and individual assessments. The group discussions give participants the opportunities to share their experience while role-playing and presentation help the practice and application of concepts and approaches learned through the course.

This course is suitable for executives working in the sales, project and business development department.

Assessment and Certification

Participants who achieve 75% attendance and pass the end-of-course assessment will be awarded the Statement of Attainment.
