Fundamentals of the Personal Data Protection Act 2020

Understand the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), identify possible areas of non-compliance and develop a process for handling complaints and breaches, as well as get their organisation started in fulfilling their obligations under the PDPA.

The course will be conducted using the WSQ Standard Curriculum and Standard Assessment developed by the PDPC.

  • Organisation’s Processes, Procedures and Guidelines of the Data Protection Management Programme (DPMP)
  • Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA)
  • PDPA and the Data Lifecycle
  • Obligations under the PDPA
  • Accountability under the PDPA
  • Best Practices in Operationalising the PDPA

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify legislative and regulatory requirements of the organisation in accordance to organisational strategies and objectives.
  • Communicate key legislative and regulatory requirements and related management systems to relevant stakeholders to facilitate legislative compliance.
  • Assess internal and regulatory organisations’ policies and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Identify and document possible areas of non-compliance in business activities in accordance with information format requirements.
  • Assist the review of adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements in accordance with organisational guidelines/ policies.
  • Assist in the integration of procedures to ensure adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements in daily scope of work.
  • Prepare management report for follow-up action.

Assessment and Certification

Participants who achieve 75% attendance and pass the end-of-course assessment will be awarded the Statement of Attainment.
