Gearing Up to be Cross-Culturally Effective
Part of the China Ready Suite - Participants of the course will be equipped with knowledge on the cultural similarities and differences in the aspect of cultural activities, politics, economy and recreations between China and Singapore. The course also approaches to manage the perceived cultural barriers when local PMETs interact with the Chinese counterparts.
Module Content
- Difference between China and Singapore in business approach and practices
- Difference in understanding the Rule of Law
- Unsuccessful ventures explained
- The significance of “face” and “extravagance” in negotiations, hospitality, entertainments, publicity, in business interactions
- Deal with government authorities / agencies
- Relationship between government and business enterprise for the new economic era in China
- The impact of “connections” and “favoritism”
Methodology
Class activities are designed to be learner-centred and will incorporate real life work scenarios. Led by trainers who are effectively billingual in English & Chinese and possess real-time business knowledge, this course will engage participants in presentation and practices to achieve maximum learning.
Learning Outcomes
Develop the skill to enhance their competence and confidence to better manage China counterparts’ expectations as well as to achieve favourable outcome from business deals.
