Essential Risk Management in Freight Liability and Claims
In this course, learn to analyse types of insurance for specific shipments based on potential liabilities of freight forwarders and carriers in the event of loss or damage of goods being transported.
Learning Outcomes
- Determine the insurance coverage required for different type of shipments and freight insurance
- Implement risk prevention and apply mitigation management measures in insurance policy assignment proposals
- Assess the liabilities of freight forwarders and carriers in association with different types of shipments in event of damage of goods being transported
- Determine the different types of insurance policies for import and export shipments with insights into the claim processes
- Organise with insurance companies to incorporate the Standard Trading Conditions on the insurance and claim settlements procedures
Target Participants:
Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) or team leader from the logistics and related sectors in supply chain, shipping, transportation and storage, freight, cargo, warehouse and procurement.
Entry Requirements
- Age 21 years or above and have at least 2 years of work experience in team leader or executive position.
- Able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills WSQ Level 4 WPL (Comprehensive) and WPN.

Assessment and Certification
Participants who fulfill at least 75% attendance for the whole course will be awarded the Statement of Attainment.
