On 23 September 2025, SCCIOB held its Annual Industry Engagement 2025, a resounding success that brought together industry leaders, educators, professionals, and alumni to share insights, forge collaborations, and chart the course for the future of Singapore’s tourism sector.

Opening Remarks
The event opened with inspiring words from Mr. Dennis Ng (Executive Director/Principal of SCCIOB) and Mr. Patrick Ng (Management Committee Chairman), who emphasized the importance of collaboration, lifelong learning, and future-ready skills for the evolving tourism landscape.

• Mr. Brixton Jeou (SCCIOB TG Graduate) – How Passion Shapes Tourism and Connections
  As an alumnus, Mr. Jeou inspired attendees by showing how passion continues to fuel meaningful careers and networks in tourism.

• Mr. Kheng Kok MAR (Senior Lecturer, Nanyang Polytechnic) – Tourism in the Age of AI
  He explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping customer engagement, service delivery, and the future workforce in tourism.

• Mr. Heng Meng Kwong (Head of Curriculum Design & Enterprise Solutions, SCCIOB) – Bridging the Skills Gaps of Tomorrow
  He addressed how continuous upskilling and curriculum innovation are essential to keep pace with industry needs.

• Mr. Jack Zhao (Board Member, Society of Tourist Guide Singapore – STGS) – Roles of Associations & Union
  He shed light on how associations and unions can uplift industry standards, protect members, and create professional opportunities.

• Mr. Tu An Junior Lim (Principal Industrial Relations Officer, Attractions, Events & Entertainment Union – AREU) – Roles of Associations & Union
  He highlighted the critical role of unions in safeguarding workers’ interests while promoting sustainable industry growth.

A Milestone Moment: MOU Signing Ceremony
The most significant highlight of the day was the MOU Signing Ceremony, which marked new strategic partnerships:

• SCCIOB & Singapore Institute of Directors (SID)

• SCCIOB & Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP)
